WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP

Landcare is a world leader in building partnerships between communities, governments, and businesses fostering the ability of the community and corporations to take action to repair and protect our environment.

Landcare Partners
Landcare has been so successful during its first 16-20 years through many excellent partnerships built by all players: landholders, volunteers, groups with councils and government at all levels, business, industry groups, other non-government organisations, media and research groups. Some of these partners deserve special mention.

Government and Community Partners

Government at all levels provides the biggest partnership opportunity and real resources for landcare.Landcare provides to government an excellent community-based network with immense capacity to help care for, and use the best practices to care for, natural resources, from a landholder through to a community basis.

Landcare groups provide immense value to all government programs, by having an organised, receptive and well-networked group of active people willing to do the best they can to care for our country.

To contact government for support, advice and resources, go to the government section of the National Landcare Directory or contact your local CMA or regional body.

State Government Partners

State Government agencies support landcare through various programs including technical advisory programs, Peak Landcare Council support, network communications, strategic priority setting for larger landscapes and Awards support.

Contact your State agency for details on landcare support in your State.

Corporate Partners

Landcare Australia works with corporate partners to generate more sustainable environmental, agricultural, natural resource management and business outcomes.

Many corporates are working with landcare through developing formal partnerships with Landcare Australia for that purpose. Corporate partners are most interested in the following aspects:

Funds for on-ground landcare activity, capacity building of community and promotion of landcare and the partnerships.

Volunteers - staff volunteering is becoming increasingly popular, with landcare (and other community care groups, including Coastcare) able to provide excellent one-off or regular staff opportunities. Contact Landcare Australia about our Corporate Environmental Volunteering Program.

In-kind resources - some corporates have products, services or special skills that are very useful to landcare, and can be provided as part of a corporate partnership to Landcare.

Media and marketing - most corporates that have landcare partnerships are keen to value-add by promoting landcare through their clients and customers.
